Canice’s Kitchen is a drop in day centre that supports men and women experiencing homelessness and isolation. For thirty years we have opened our gates seven days a week, offering refuge, social support and delicious meals all cooked onsite.
Now it’s your chance to get involved in one of these teams and make a huge impact in the daily life of someone living on the street.
Location: Volunteering including a daily food service to Rushcutters Bay, Sydney
Requirements: Once a month food preparation and service.
We are currently looking for passionate families to join our Cooking Teams preparing meals for our street community. Each volunteer is assigned to a team which is led by a team leader who is experienced working with our community. The teams are made up of families from all parts of our Sydney, from all walks of life and all ages. The volunteer’s guardian will have access to the team chat via whatsapp to help the volunteer work out what to cook each week. Volunteers must follow NSW Government food handling regulations as well as our own COVID safe protocols. We are looking for fortnightly or monthly contributors to join! Our upcoming Backyard Winter Sleepout is another way young people can get involved and immerse themselves in some of the experiences that homeless men and women face everyday.
